A story of survival, loss, courage, and rising again.
Long before grief entered my life, I had already learned what it meant to survive.
My journey includes seasons of abuse and rebuilding – experiences that shaped my understanding of fear, identity, and the quiet courage it takes to reclaim your voice.
My life didn’t unfold the way I imagined it would. Very few stories do.
There is the life we expect to live – the one built on plans, hopes, relationships, and the quiet belief that tomorrow will look the way we intend it to.
And then there is the life that changes everything.
My story sits between those two worlds.
The Day Everything Changed
The day I lost Vic, my world shattered.
Grief arrived like a storm with no warning, no mercy, and no instructions.
It stripped away my sense of certainty, identity, and safety.
It broke me open in ways I didn’t think were survivable.
There are moments in life that mark us.
Moments that split everything into “before” and “after.”
This was mine.
And yet, in the quiet hours of rebuilding – in the moments when no one was watching – something inside me began to grow.
Not quickly.
Not neatly.
Not perfectly.
But honestly.
The Rising
Healing is not linear.
It is not glamorous.
It is not something you do once and tick off a list.
Healing is a series of choices – small, sacred, exhausting, courageous choices.
Choices like:
To get up.
To breathe.
To feel.
To tell the truth.
To keep going.
Over time, I began to understand that my story wasn’t something I needed to hide.
It was something I needed to honour.
And in honouring it, I found my voice.
The Work I Do Today
Today, I am a speaker, author, and advocate for emotional resilience, and human transformation.
My work is grounded in lived experience – not theory alone.
I speak and write from a place of truth, vulnerability, and deep respect for the human spirit.
I help people:
navigate loss and uncertainty
develop emotional resilience
find strength in their most challenging seasons
reconnect with themselves after disruption
rise with intention, clarity, and courage
Whether I’m on a stage, in a boardroom, or writing at my desk, my intention is always the same:
To remind people that even in the darkest moments, they are not alone – and they are not broken beyond repair.
The Phoenix Within
The Phoenix Within is the heart of my work – a body of writing born from lived experience and dedicated to emotional resilience, identity, and rebuilding.
Resilient Agility
I later founded Resilient Agility – a corporate framework bringing emotional intelligence and behavioural agility into organisations navigating change.
What I Believe
I believe in truth.
I believe in softness.
I believe in courage.
I believe in the quiet wisdom that comes from lived experience.
I believe in the power of a story that is told honestly.
I believe in rising – not despite the pain, but because of what it teaches us.
And I believe in you.
Wherever you are in your journey, whatever you’re carrying, whatever you’re trying to rebuild:
There is a way forward.
There is light.
There is possibility.
There is a Phoenix Within you too.
If my story resonates, I would be honoured to bring it to your stage.
